Meet Our Herd

  • Leo

Born in May 2025, this 100% Highland dun colored steer is our newest addition. He is the first calf of Mango and is exceptionally sweet-natured and would do especially well paired with his half-brother, Rocky. Leo is still a little shy, but we are working with him using grain and treats and he’s making great progress. He is expected to mature in the mid-size range with a lot of shaggy fur like his mama.

  • Mango

Mango is a 4-year-old red Highland cow who has had one calf and has proven herself to be an excellent mother. She is more full-size highland than mini, but is 100% Highland, displaying all the breed’s classic characteristics. She has a quirky personality and is always the first to line up for treats. Currently open, Mango would make a valuable addition to any herd.

  • Rocky

Born in September 2024, this 100% Highland dun colored steer is expected to mature in the mid-size mini range. He is the first calf of Blackberry and was definitely a mama’s boy. He has a very gentle disposition and loves treats and attention. Along with his half-brother Leo, Rocky would make a wonderful addition to any pasture and is always up for a good head scratch or handful of treats. (His horns were shortened slightly due to sparring with Casper, our bull.)

  • Bella

Born in May 2024, this girl is a white 85% Highland / 15% Whitepark full of personality. She is extremely docile and endlessly curious - much like a goat - and is especially fond of nibbling coat zippers while being brushed. We’re hoping to welcome her first calf this fall, sired by Casper.

  • Casper

Born in April 2024, this cream colored 100% Highland true mini is our herd sire and truly the pride of our program. He has an exceptionally gentle temperament and loves being haltered, brushed and pet. We’re hopeful his thick coat, calm disposition, and small frame will be passed on to his calves - the first of which are due this spring.

  • Blackberry

Blackberry is a mid-sized Mini Highland with a docile, friendly nature and a lot of spunk. She loves treats, brushing, and being petted, and enjoys human interaction. She has had one calf, Rocky, and will be having a calf from Casper this spring.

  • Dakota

This almost 3 year old girl is a mid-size Highland/Whitepark and is white with dun tips. She has a sweet personality and is always up for eating treats out of your hand or getting a neck scratch. Dakota is expecting her first calf this spring, sired by Casper. Her unique markings, combined with Casper’s small frame and fluffy coat, are expected to produce a truly beautiful calf.

  • Gidget

Gidget is very small in stature and will most likely be a true Miniature Highland. She has striking white markings throughout her black, exceptionally fluffy coat. Gidget is extremely docile and loves treats and brushing, and she is expecting her first calf this spring, sired by Casper.

  • Ruby Sue

Ruby Sue will be a mid-sized Mini Highland and is 100% red/brindle. She has a very full coat and a goofy, spunky personality, though she can be a bit shy. We’re hoping she will be expecting her first calf this fall, sired by Casper.
